Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day Weekend with Justin’s family for his grandpa’s 80th birthday party.  All of Justin’s brothers and sisters were there – a huge group!  It was a lot of fun, and Evie had a blast playing with so many cousins.

On Memorial Day, all the dads took the children fishing. all. day. long. there were 20 children and 5 dad’s and a grandpa.  Wow.  The mom’s crafted and visited all. day. long.  It was the most fabulous day! Thanks to amazing dad’s who are willing to do that!

The weekend expanded into the next week where two of his brother’s made their way north to Justin’s parents house for the week.  We went to Temple Square, a splash pad a baseball game, lots of thrift store stops, and lots of bar-b-que’s and get-together’s.  We even painted two rooms in Kristel’s house!  What a fun week with family.

Here we are (some of us) walking to the church for the luncheon.  Each of Justin’s aunts/uncles had a different color assigned to them for the big family photo.  Ours was red.

Warm before the storm

Last weekend we went to St. George while Justin has some meetings.  Evie and I had a nice time during a beautiful day!  We went to the St. George Temple grounds and, of course, the pizza factory for dinner.  It was a fun getaway!

After seeing and playing on the stairs, we have to make stairs on our blocks/Legos temple now.  every time.

The week we came home, it stormed a few times.  We were able to make some snowmen.  (er, women/girl).   One night, this is what Justin and Evie made.  It’s a little Evie snowgirl!

Our Family Adventure

It was a beautiful weekend and we decided to take a family adventure on the local transportation called TRAX.  We parked at the nearest stop by our house, and rode the train into downtown Salt Lake.  Evie loved every minute!   It was actually pretty fun.  You meet all sorts of people riding the train!  We got off at the Temple Square stop and wandered around the new city creek development.  It sure is beautiful.  What a fun activity!

The Farm in Minersville

This weekend was the start of the deer hunt.  Evie and I drove to Minersville with Justin and he took off to their camp in the mountain.  On Saturday night he came back down to spend Sunday with us.  We had a really nice time visiting and staying with Grandpa Great and Grandma Kathy was there too.  We took a drive on Sunday out to the Dairy Farm.  The cows are so adorable, and the first time we saw them, I realized I had forgotten my camera.  So…we drove back to grandpa’s, got the camera and returned.  Needless to say, the shots were not so “candid” the second time around…but they capture the idea of it.PA230003  PA230009

Evie walked right up to the stalls at the first.  This baby cow had knocked its bucket out and so she helped by putting it back.  PA230012PA230013PA230014PA230017

Youth Conference 2011

We had a wonderful time at youth conference last week! We went to Snow College and Evie got to play with grandma & grandpa. There were wonderful activities that included the Manti Pagaent, Water games, ropes course & group games.
Here's Justin on a slip 'n slide. We rotated around a huge field playing these water games.

One of the rotations took us to a cotton candy machine! YUM! This is my favorite! Another thing we did was rode a bicycle built for two! I have always wanted to do that, and it was as fun as I anticipated!

Here is Justin on the blow-up slip 'n slide. I did this too, but thank goodness, no one caught how graceful I was on it!

ward party February 2011

We had a blast last night at our ward party. Because there is now no activities committee, the first party fell in the lap of the young women leaders. So, with my board, we planned an adult's only dinner/dancing party. The theme was "Don't tell my heart my achy-breaky heart" (western theme). We have the corbridge's in our ward who dj and they were superb! Justin was a great sport and danced the night away with me! We have never danced together, and it was so fun for us!Another person in the ward drew this backdrop for pictures for each person/couple. I loved that!
We love how the centerpieces turned out! Flowers in boots! One person turned to her husband and said, "i bet you'd have never guessed flowers would be in your $300 boots!" She was right and it was adorable.
Here we are doing YMCA. Lots of fun, Lots of work and lots of fun people!

New Year's Day

Happy New Year everyone! It's going to be a great year! On New Year's day, we went sledding with my family. We had a blast and Evie even had fun sliding down the big hill.
One time, Justin put her in her own tube and he held onto it in his tube. It was so cute.
My really, really smart sister (who is so active and outdoorsy) just had surgery on her knee last, came to watch us tube, and she decided to go down. I really don't blame her for wanting to go; it really was quite fun. Everyone volunteered to help her back up the hill. She safely made it down, and thanks to this crew, she safely made it back up. she later admitted that the decision to go down was probably not the wisest. That was pretty funny.

Evie found that she could slide down the hill in her snow pants. She preferred this to the tube, and had fun sliding. It was a beautiful and perfect day! Cold, but sunny. All the layers kept us warm.

Columbus Day

Justin had the day off work, so we decided to go to park city to ride the Alpine Slide. When we arrived, it was closed. It's now only open on weekends! We were so disappointed. We were so excited to have Evie try the slide. So, on the way home, between Park City and Kimball Junction, we saw this jogging trail with all of these scarecrows along it. We decided to stop. This was our favorite; the three little pigs. All of the scarecrows were so creative, and fun. We walked along the path and enjoyed a good laugh. It turned out to be a really fun time doing something we weren't planning to do at all!

Evie's Birthday Present

Justin woke up the Saturday before Evelyn's birthday, and decided to put together a slide for her! What a handyman. We had already gathered pieces to make a swing set, but it probably was a project for next summer. So, he took the slide by itself, and made an a-frame ladder and attached the slide. evelyn loves it! It's perfect because when I work in the yard, she is entertained.

Finished tree

We have 2 nephews and a niece getting baptized this year! I decided to make these blocks for each one. The girl paper is pink instead of blue. I think they turned out cute and will look really cute with their picture at their baptism.
We finally got all the tree trimmings delivered to people in the ward who needed it. It looks so different, but much better then a dead tree!
