sprinkled cupcakes and other things

Justin found these glasses for Evelyn to put on while shopping. She looked so funny in them, but loved wearing them!
I tried my hand at this cupcake idea i saw somewhere. They are dum dum suckers dipped in water and then sprinkled with the little ball sprinkles. They turned out so cute! We took these to the neighbors to thank them for watching Evelyn last week for me.
Justin's father's day gift from Evelyn. It says: To my slightly nutty but sweet DAD, and then the jar is filled with peanut M&M's.

To my wonderful card-group ladies! Thanks for oohhhing & Ahhhing over dessert last night! Per your request, here is the recipe: 1/2 package (17 1/4 -ounce size) frozen puff pastry (1 sheet)

Unflod pastry on lightly floured surface. Cut into 3 strips along fold marks. Place on baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes or until golden. Remove from baking sheet and cool on wire rack.
Prepare pudding mix according to package directions with 1 cup milk. Fold in whipped cream. cover and refrigerate.
To prepare icing, in small bowl mix confectioners' sugar and 2 teaspoons milk and set aside.

To make the top layers, spread icing on 2 layers.
Spread another pastry layer with 3/4 cup pudding mixture. Top with about 1/3 cup strawberries. Repeat layers.
Top with an iced pastry layer.
Repeat to make second dessert.

Easter treats

Justin asked me to make a treat to take to his home teaching families. I baked brownies in cut-down cupcake holders, smeared on some creamcheese frosting, toasted some coconut and threw on some jelly beans. Simple. The only thing is that they were cooked a little bit too long, so it was hard to pull the paper off. The next day, after sitting in a bag with a piece of bread, they were soft & moist and the paper came right off.

My First Turkey Dinner!

I have had this turkey in my freezer for awhile now, and decided it was time to take it out and learn how to cook it!!! I prepared it by putting cut up onion pieces and celery. But first, I had to take out the insides. My mom coached me through it, but I thought the inside bone was what was supposed to come out!! I pulled and pulled (no joke--and I can't believe I admit it, but I really had no idea), but it didn't come. Finally I called my mom and said, now WHAT part comes out? She helped me find the little packet to pull out. It was an 18 pound turkey and it cooked in 5 hours. It was wonderful! I had my family over to help eat it and we had such a fun time! I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of the finished product. You'll just have to trust me when I say it turned out beautifully!
