Girls Camp 2010

Here's our Good Deed Tree (take-off from no good deed. from Wicked the musical). Except this tree was for Good Deed's done during camp. Each girl got a hat with a note inside explaining the good deed they were seen doing. Changed...For Good! Here we are at Girls camp.

Here is Brook eating from the pig trough. Yes, some ate like pigs...others, more lady-like. :) It was so fun to watch them!

Here we are in front of our sign that we used in our skit. It was the village of Gold & virtue.
This is on our fun hike for the 1st year girls. A couple others came along...and we hiked to this beautiful little waterfall. It was a perfect day for a hike.

sending off our fishermen!

Dad, Justin & Jamison all headed to Alaska for the week to fish! They met up with Justin's dad and brother and some other cousins. I can't wait for the fish they'll bring home! YUM!

Evelyn saying goodbye to her dad as he holds the fishing poles. (I love all their coolers in the background! The goal is to have them full of fish for the return trip!)

Bryce Canyon National Park

We visited Bryce Canyon on the 24th of July. What fun it was to be with family, hike around and visit some shops. I think i far prefer this figure over the one behind it!

Evie loved playing with her cousins. Here is Natalie and Emily lifting her off the ground.

Eating at Henrie's Drive-in, Panguitch, utah. We stayed the weekend for Uncle John & Aunt Pam's homecoming report. What a fun weekend!

Temple square with cousins

Evie and I met up with Monica and her kiddos and Aunt Rachel at Temple square. We had a lot of fun wandering around and seeing the sights. It was fun to go in the tabernacle and take a picture since were weren't able to when I sang in the concert in June (copyright issues with the choir). I love this shot with the kids and the temple.

Sister's Trip to Park City

This year, we went to a condo in Midway for our sister's trip. It was so fun and relaxing. We played one day in Park city where we rode the zip line (Monica and megan here & Brenda arriving below) and the coaster ride. we went to ride the alpine slide, but it started raining, so we had to take a shuttle back down the mountain. Oh, did I mention that we were next in line to go when they called and had the lady close the slide??? FRUSTRATING! Thanks to Monica though, Justin and I can go back sometime and go on the ride together.

Fishing with uncle Justin

One of the favorite things to do each summer is for Justin to take my nieces & Nephews fishing. This year, we went to Farmington pond so that we could also go to the Farmington Parade right after. The fish were not biting, so Justin took Katie & Emily to the "secret spot" to fish. Emily had to leave early, and so he took Katie down the stream a little further and she finally caught a cute little trout....happily eaten for dinner the next day. Katie was so proud (as she should be!)

Evie wasn't too interested in fishing...she just wandered around the shoreline.

Witches hats in JULY!?!?!

We are forever preparing for girls camp!! The witches hats came today. No one had them in the stores (quite yet) and so I had to order them from online. Here are the hats and then each girl will get a wand.

Here's the water bottle each girl will get the first day. Just a little extra for fun!

Sesame Chicken Strips

Thanks to Taste of Home, I found another YUMMY & EASY chicken recipe!

Sesame Chicken Strips
1 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons dried minced onion
2 teaspoons ground mustard
1 cup crushed butter-flavored crackers (about 25 crackers)
1/2 cup sesame seeds
8 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (2 pounds)
sauce:
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons honey
In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, onion and mustard. In another bowl, combine the cracker crumbs and sesame seeds. Cut chicken lengthwise into 1/4 in. strips (I did them bigger). Dip strips into mayonnaise mixture, then into the sesame seed mixture.
Place in a single layer on a large greased baking sheet. I put down tin foil and sprayed that with PAM. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-18 minutes or until juices run clear. Combine sauce ingredients and serve with chicken strips. YUMMY!!

Samatha's wedding

Justin's sister decided to get hitched. So, with only one week to plan, we came up with the dinner and decor. It turned out wonderful I think! Here I am making little bouquets for the little girls to hold.

Here's Susan helping to place the rose buds around the center pieces
