New Beginnings 2011
Last night was new beginnings. We had a great time and the decor turned out so cute! We did the crayon burst (previous blog) balls for the centerpiece, and lights strung across the ceiling. We introduced the personal progress program online and the leaders sang a great song one of my counselor's wrote to the tune of whitney houston's greatest love of all. We pulled it off!!! We then had the parents/girls break off and go over their personal progress goals for the year so they will plan on a project to display in November. NO MORE EXCUSES! :) Then, for dessert we had individual cakes with frosting and then a variety of toppings in all the value colors.
Thank you to all my amazing leaders for your support and help!

What a fun weekend!
We had such a blast this weekend as a family. We were going to go sledding on Monday because Justin had the day off for the holiday, but we learned it would rain, and so we went on Saturday. There is a little hill by our house and by the end, Evie was loving it so much that she was willing to go down on her own! We also have a neighbor who has a turkey, and I loved this picture of Evie & Justin looking at it on their way to the hill to sled.
V is for Valentine block. This 8x6.5" block is $10. color: soft pink with red showing through.

It's been awhile!
My former boss called me at the end of December asking if I could come in to help for a couple days a week and thanks to my mom and sister-in-law watching Evie, I am able to do that! So, as a result, my blogging has slowed down, but we haven't!
Evie loves, loves, loves these paint brushes Aunt Megan gave her for Christmas. She paints pictures, the highchair and of course, HER!We are having New Beginnings at the end of January, and the theme is: Let Personal Progress COLOR your world! My dearest friend came up with this awesome theme! Thanks, Em! I had hit a roadblock! That same day, I was watching Studio 5 and my favorite contributor Alisa Bangerter showed this cute stryofoam ball with crayons shoved into it. So, I decided to make one to see if it would work for decor for our theme! I think we'll make one for each table. Caution: they take about 200 crayons! We are downsizing the ball.
My sister in law Kristel had a birthday this week and so I made her a family home evening magnetic board. I didn't take a picture of the magnets, and they turned out so cute! I put their name on each stone magnet with a cute font.

New Year's Day
Happy New Year everyone! It's going to be a great year! On New Year's day, we went sledding with my family. We had a blast and Evie even had fun sliding down the big hill.
One time, Justin put her in her own tube and he held onto it in his tube. It was so cute.My really, really smart sister (who is so active and outdoorsy) just had surgery on her knee last, came to watch us tube, and she decided to go down. I really don't blame her for wanting to go; it really was quite fun. Everyone volunteered to help her back up the hill. She safely made it down, and thanks to this crew, she safely made it back up. she later admitted that the decision to go down was probably not the wisest. That was pretty funny.
Evie found that she could slide down the hill in her snow pants. She preferred this to the tube, and had fun sliding. It was a beautiful and perfect day! Cold, but sunny. All the layers kept us warm.
